Massachusetts does not place any education or certification requirements on those seeking to become a paralegal.  Prospective paralegals may become a paralegal through on-the-job training opportunities or by pursuing a certificate program, an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree.

Central Massachusetts Paralegal Association

Massachusetts Paralegal Association (MPA)
The Massachusetts Paralegal Association, Inc. (MPA) is the oldest professional association for paralegals within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The MPA was organized in 1975 by paralegals in Massachusetts to promote the development of the paralegal profession.

Western Massachusetts Paralegal Association (WMPA)
WMPA is a thriving non-profit organization that is composed of paralegals working in all areas of law in the Western Massachusetts area.
